About Pokémon Wordle

Pokémon Wordle is a free daily guessing game. One mystery Pokémon is chosen each day from all nine generations — 1025 species in total. Type any Pokémon and the grid compares eight traits side by side, with arrows telling you whether the answer is higher or lower. There is no guess limit: keep narrowing it down until you land on it.

How to play

  1. Type any Pokémon name into the search box and pick it from the list.
  2. The grid scores eight traits. Green is an exact match, yellow means the type is correct but in the other slot, grey is no match. Arrows on numeric columns point toward the answer.
  3. There is no limit on guesses. A free hint row is shown from the start to give you a foothold.

What each column means

Type 1
Primary elemental type. Yellow means the type is right but sits in the other slot.
Type 2
Secondary type, or a dash for single-type Pokémon.
Gen
Which generation the species debuted in, 1 through 9. Arrows point to the answer.
Colour
The Pokédex body colour, which is not always the colour you would guess.
Evo
Position in the evolution line: 1 for unevolved, 3 for a final form.
Height
Height in metres, with an arrow pointing toward the answer.
Weight
Weight in kilograms, with an arrow pointing toward the answer.
Habitat
The habitat recorded in the Pokédex, such as forest, cave, or rare.

Frequently asked questions

Does everyone get the same Pokémon?

Yes. One answer per day, shared by every player worldwide, rolling over at midnight UTC.

Can any Pokémon be the answer?

Yes — all 1025 species across the nine generations are in the pool, not just the popular ones.

What does a yellow cell mean?

The type you guessed does appear on the answer, but in the other type slot. A Pokémon whose first type is Water will show yellow if the answer has Water as its second type.

Is there a limit on guesses?

No. Guess as many times as you need; your guess count is simply the score you share.
